The Need for a Home Alarm System

I am writing this as an aid to homeowners. I began my career as a criminal many years ago and I concentrated on home invasion robberies. After being convicted and doing a stretch in prison, I decided to use my skills for good and tell people how they can deter burglars. In short, by far the easiest and most effective way to deter criminals is to install home alarm systems.
When a criminal is intending to rob a house, he will usually observe an entire neighborhood for possible targets. He hopes to see the signs that a home is likely easy to steal from – bushy shrubs hiding entry points, mail or newspapers left out for days indicating that the residents are on a trip, and most significantly, no suggestion that the home has been fitted with alarm system. If there is a little alarm company sign by the door, decals on the windows, or an outside control box, burglars simply move on.

Today’s alarm systems are technologically advanced but are simple to operate. One alarm system is programmed to periodically switch lights and televisions on and off to give the house the appearance of being occupied. Others are configured for remote operation of the system through the convenience of a cell phone. Maybe you and your family are returning from a movie and as you arrive, you see movement inside through the windows. You can call a programmed code on your cell phone and immediately lights and televisions inside your residence all turn on and the person is panicked into running away. There are some home alarm systems that can monitor the carbon dioxide levels in your home, provide a level of reassurance for the elderly or ill with warning systems for health concerns, and even notify you when your kids get in after school.

Moreover, please keep in mind that home security alarm systems only work if they are activated. A lot of individuals fail to adequately secure their home during the workday because they think their home is safe in broad daylight. The fact is that most burglaries occur between 9 am and 3 pm for the very reason that most people are at their jobs so the chance of being noticed is actually reduced during the day. Home alarm systems – if used diligently – will always stop burglaries.
